1961 Aston Martin DB4 Series II

1 of Only 45 Original, Factory Left Hand Drive Cars Produced


The DB4 was launched at the 1958 London Motor Show to a sensational debut. The factory-made substantial changes with the introduction to the DB4 making the driving much more pleasurable than the previous model with much improved handling and better driving characteristics. Bodywork was designed by Touring and retained the “Superleggera” process of a steel tube frame with an all-aluminium body. The DB4 was a major success for Aston Martin and production continued through until 1963.

It should be noted that the DB4 was a milestone in the history of Aston Martin and this model was the first cars to be built at the company's Newport Pagnell works. Without doubt, DB4 is regarded by motoring experts as an iconic motorcar and probably the best sports car of its era.

The main specification changes for the series 2 were the increase in engine size, the introduction of rack and pinion steering, assisted disc brakes, coil springs to the rear and upgraded suspension making the car much more enjoyable to drive with improved handling.

Our DB4 was supplied new in February 1961 by Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd directly to a member of an overseas Royal Family issued and delivered with a United Kingdom registration number. However, from the cars original factory service records we understand that the car was EU based and used in France and Switzerland.
