Introduced in 1958, this model was an important landmark in the Ferrari production car story. It marked the point where Pininfarina became, with only one subsequent exception, the sole designer of Ferrari series production cars to date. The engine and chassis combination would, with upgrading and modifications, form the backbone of Ferrari production car output in the form of the various 250 GT models for a decade.

The 250 GT Pininfarina rides smoothly on independent front suspension and telescopic shock absorbers, front and rear. It had a four speed, all-synchromesh gearbox for greater driving ease. In all sense of the words a true long distance “Grand Tourer” and unsurpassed by its contemporaries of that period. The sumptuous cabin featured swiveling quarter-lights, a large volume of glass for light and visibility and acres of leather and chrome.

#1987GT is a late model series 2 production car presented in its original manufactured color of Rosso Rubino and fitted with disc brakes and “outside plug” engine. The car spent most of its life in America, where it was delivered new and benefits from many original features including Marchall Headlamps, Lenses and working overdrive unit.
On arrival into the UK (June 2016) the car was sent to one of the UK leading Ferrari classic car specialists, GTO Engineering, who completed mechanical checks, safety works and new MOT. The car has only covered 21 km since. Post-sale preparation prior to handover will include a fresh maintainence service by GTO Engineering.

The 250 GT PF represents a remarkable balance of style, speed and usability. With its roofless, less practical siblings now reaching sale prices far into the millions, this example, which is no less mouthwateringly pretty for its enclosed cockpit, must surely be the very zenith of good value. These 250 PF coupé variants are possibly one of the most underpriced two seat Ferrari 250 models of all time.

Priced to sell at today’s market values.
